The point of this page is to showcase some of the machinery we have invested in to help
ensure every surfacing or re-surfacing job we undertake can be completed on time and to budget.
Hockley Surfacing strongly believe in order to continually provide the very highest quality work a skilled operator is only as good as the machine he is operating. Reliable, efficient machinery enable every job to be done efficiently and more importantly within the quoted time constraints and to budget.
For this reason we take pride in stating our fleet of vehicles are regularly and thoroughly maintained and also up-dated when a greatly superior model becomes available or we feel that a newer version of the same model would provide ease of mind with regards reliability.

Mercedes Benz Actros Truck with King trailer

Our Mercedes Benz Actros Low Loader is the 2568 model. We purchased this from new in 2002. Little more needs to be said for the quality and reliability of Mercedes Benz.
We also have a 30 tonne insulated Bulker that, in combination with our low loader, can either perform muck away duties or deliver tarmac, road planings etc
Wirtogen W 1200 FK Cold Milling Machine
Our cold milling machine is the excellent Wirtgen W 1200 FK model
This road milling machine has a mechanically driven milling drum with 2 stage front loading conveyor system. This provides a milling width of 1.2 metres with a milling depth of between 0-320mm. Designed for soundproofing this model is excellent both for the operators health and safety and for the environment with noise pollution kept as low as possible whilst milling is underway.
Vogele Super 1203 Paver
Chosen for it's unrivalled quality, the Vogele Super 1203 paver is simply the best!
A thoroughly superb compact design enables the Vogele 1203 very high manoeuvrability in even the most confined of spaces! Despite this it is capable of paving widths up to 4.5m so still proves a very efficient paver indeed. Couple this with a lay down rate approaching 250 tonnes per hour and you may start to see why we favour this paver over others available to us.
Rollers: Hamm HD 14 vv & HD 8 vv
The Hamm HD14VV is an articulated tandem roller(left) with the HD8VV a slightly smaller version
Designed to perfection the Hamm HD14VV and HD8VV both have a concave front end allowing optimal viewing all the way to the drums edges. This machine has been built for operator comfort and safety - it really is a joy to operate and one of it's defining design traits is to allow sideways (crab) motion whilst compacting surfaces (ideal for kerb radius). The operators drive lever is situated on both sides with the ability of the operators seat sliding to either side of the machine for maximum view of operation.
Grab Lorry - Mercedes Axor 2633
The Mercedes Axor 2633 is a 6x4 Grab Lorry
The Euro 5 standard Axor 2633 has been designed to be as robust as possible, with it's all steel cab and reduced blind spot design for all round safety.
Tipper - Mercedes Axor 1824
The Mercedes Axor 1824 is an insulated 4x2 tipper

Vauxhall Astra Van Fleet
High Visibility fast response support vehicles
We have a fleet of high visibility Vauxhall Astra Van support vehicles. Ideal for fast response situations or to aid in roadside visibility whilst work or reviews are in progress.
Iveco Eurocargo 140E18 & 75E16 tippers
Purchased from new last year Hockley Surfacing can now add these Tippers to our fleet.
The Iveco 75E16 is a 7.5 tonne vehicle and the Iveco 140E18 is a 14 tonne vehicle. It's emissions meet the very stringent Euro 4 standard despite it's engine design to produce in excess of 500nm of torque from 1200-2100rpm.

A name synonymous with vans and reliable. The Ford Transit has probably seen more miles as a model than any other van in Britain today.
